These terms apply to everyone who uses fruitprobe.com. By reading the site, subscribing to the newsletter or asking for a reader plan, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

What this site is

FruitProbe is an independent editorial site about free mobile puzzle and arcade games. Notes, verdicts and genre folders are the opinion of our editors after hands-on play. They are not advice, not a guarantee of quality, and not a statement on behalf of any studio. Ratings shown next to a game are the public Google Play rating of that listing on the day the note was published.

Advertising disclosure

The site is free to read and is supported in two ways.

• Advertising. Some links to Google Play listings are promotional placements, and they are labelled where they appear. The free games we cover are themselves supported by in-app advertising, which is part of how a free title exists at all.
• Reader plans. Optional paid plans described on the home page and below.

Advertising is arranged separately from editorial work. A studio cannot buy a place on the shelf, a rating, a higher position or a softer paragraph, and no advertiser sees a note before it is published.

No affiliation

FruitProbe is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google LLC or by any studio or publisher named on this site. Google Play is a trademark of Google LLC. Game names, icons and screenshots are the property of their respective owners and appear here to illustrate editorial coverage.

The games we cover

Every title on the shelf is free to install from Google Play at the time of writing. Some of them offer optional extras inside the app. We are not a party to anything you buy inside a game and we do not process those transactions; questions about them belong to the studio or to Google Play support.

Reader plans

• What is included. The Reader plan is free and covers the published notes, the newsletter and the weekly genre digest. Probe Monthly and Probe Yearly add extended notes with mechanics breakdowns, early access to shelf updates, the full archive of past notes, and — on the yearly plan — the printable end-of-season shelf review.
• Price. Probe Monthly is A$4.90 per month and Probe Yearly is A$39 per year, both stated in Australian dollars and including GST.
• Term and renewal. A plan runs for the period paid for and renews automatically at the end of that period unless it is cancelled beforehand.
• Cancellation. You can cancel at any time from the link in any plan email or by writing to the desk. Cancellation stops the next renewal; access continues until the end of the period already paid for.
• Refund. If you are not satisfied, ask within 14 days of a payment and we will refund that period in full. This is in addition to the consumer guarantees you have under Australian law.
• Price changes. We give at least 30 days notice by email before a plan price changes, and you may cancel before the new price applies.
• Current status. Billing is not switched on yet: our payment provider is being activated, no card details are collected anywhere on this site, and nothing is charged. Choosing a plan today only adds you to the list, and we write to you before a plan starts.

Using the site properly

• Do not copy substantial parts of our notes for republication without permission; short quotations with a link back are welcome.
• Do not attempt to interfere with the site, its forms or its providers.
• Do not use the newsletter form with someone else's address.

Intellectual property

Editorial text, the structure of the shelf, the layout and the FruitProbe name belong to FruitProbe. Everything relating to the games themselves — names, icons, screenshots, artwork — belongs to the studios and publishers that own them.

Accuracy and liability

We check facts before publishing, but mobile games change constantly and a listing can be updated the day after a note goes out. The site is provided on an "as is" basis and you rely on it at your own discretion. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim connected with the site is limited to supplying the material again or refunding the plan period concerned.

Links to Google Play and other sites are provided for convenience. We do not control those pages and are not responsible for their content, their terms or their handling of your data.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of Australian courts. Privacy questions are handled under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth); the supervising regulator is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes

We may update these terms as the site develops. The date at the top always shows the current version, and changes that affect a paid plan are announced by email in advance.
